Samsung joins the OPC Foundation

Samsung Electronics has joined the OPC Foundation as a Corporate Member, in order to accelerate deploying interoperable Industrial edge platform into its manufacturing infrastructures relying on OPC UA framework.

OPC is an interoperability standard for the secure and reliable exchange of data and information in industrial automation and other industries. It ensures the seamless flow of information among multi-vendor platforms. More than 500 companies participate in creating the series of specifications for the OPC standard. Samsung Electronics, one of the largest consumer and mobile electronics manufacturers worldwide, believes in the great potential of the OPC UA framework to deploy an Industrial IoT edge platform for its manufacturing infrastructure, in order to achieve seamless Industry 4.0 interoperability.
