Modular and powerful, Kontron expands its industrial computer family with its KBox C-104-RPL Series. These new PCs offer 13th generation Intel® Core™ processors for maximum flexibility and performance.

Kontron , a leading global provider IoT/Embedded Computer Technology (ECT) presented a new product at the SPS 2025 in Nuremberg — a new generation of its high-end industrial computers: the KBox C-104-RPL family. Based on the 13th generation Intel® Core™ mobile processors, Generation (code named ‘Raptor Lake’) with up to 45W TDP. These box PCs combine high computing power combined with a robust, flexible system design. CPUs have up to 14 processing cores and offer sufficient performance for demanding edge workloads and high-end applications with high bandwidth.

The systems of the new KBox C-104-RPL series are based on powerful 13th generation Intel® Core ™ i3/i5/i7 processors with up to 14 cores (6-performance) cores and 8-efficient cores), based on Intel® technology. They utilize a performance hybrid architecture and the processors are characterized by impressive computing power that can form the basis for demanding real-time applications including machine learning, or processing large amounts of data.

Thanks to its unique modular system approach, the Box PCs in the KBox C-104-RPL family can be individually configured from a compact version without expansion slots, up to one fully expanded version with four PCIe slots. The systems are suitable for both simple control tasks and for complex applications that require additional I/O, GPU, or when communication cards are needed.

For the highest performance and added flexibility, the interior offers three M.2 slots and one mPCIe slot. Provision for the integration of mass storage devices, fieldbuses, along with NVRAM Extensions, radio modules or AI accelerators, can be used. This allows systems to be precisely tailored to the requirements of a wide variety of industrial projects such as coordinated machine control, inspection, or even AI inference.

The KBox C-104-RPL family industrial PCs are specifically designed for use in control cabinets in automation environments. A robust metal housing offers an optimized thermal design, and the use of high-quality industrial components ensures reliable continuous operation even under extreme conditions. Furthermore, by foregoing movable components for storage, passive cooling, and the optional use of gold caps, reduces service costs. These systems further increase performance and at the same time reduce operating costs to a minimum.

All variants of the KBox C-104-RPL feature up to three DisplayPorts and four 2.5GbE ports. Interfaces include one or two COM ports including RS485 option, three USB 3.2 ports each and three USB 2.0 ports as well as two SATA slots.

First samples of the new KBox C-104-RPL series will be available in the beginning of February 2026.
