New 10-port open-frame switch includes two 10-gigabit ports with either copper or fiber.
The new fanless µMAXBES comes with 8x 1Gbit header and 2x 10Gbit fiber optic or copper ports. The device meets the high MPL standards such as long-term availability, extended temperature range, flexibility and low power consumption.
The new µMAXBES solution is a 10-port open-frame switch that includes two 10-gigabit ports with either copper or fiber. The solution is extremely compact and measures only 115 x 95 x 34 mm with a weight of 237 grams (incl. cooling plate and two SFP carrier boards). The managed switch can be used as an open frame solution or in a MIL housing with connections of your choice. The supply voltage of the device is 5V – 36VDC and consumes less than 6W in full operation. The µMAXBES can be operated at -20°C to +60°C.
The two 10Gbit ports of the µMAXBES can be equipped with SFP or copper (RJ45) and even mixed. Most Ethernet-compatible transceivers (10Gbit SFP+ and 1Gbit SFP, according to MSA) can be used for the fiber optic ports. It allows users to select the appropriate transceiver for each connection.
The 10-Gbit copper ports with RJ45 support auto-crossover (Auto MSDI/MDIX) and polarity correction. The µMAXBES comes with a powerful switch lookup engine that supports up to 1024 MAC entries with automatic learning and aging. Jumbo frames up to 10k bytes are supported.
As a managed switch, the product offers access to settings to configure functions such as: Quality of Service, VLAN, Rapid Spanning Tree and much more. To customize these, MPL provides an easy-to-use web interface.
