Welcome to a new era of functional safety excellence! Moore Industries is thrilled to announce the launch of our latest innovative solution for safety loops, the SLA Multiloop and Multifunction Safety Logic Solver and Alarm.
As the demand for advanced yet cost-effective solutions in plant-critical IEC 61508 Functional Safety applications continues to rise, we are proud to introduce a groundbreaking product that sets a new standard in safety, efficiency, versatility, and ease of use.
As part of the Moore Industries FS Functional Safety Series, the SLA is meticulously designed and constructed in accordance with IEC 61508:2010 standards. Notably, the SLA proudly bears the exida certification, assuring its systematic integrity up to SIL 3 and random integrity up to SIL 2 for deployment in Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS). This certification validates the SLA’s reliability and suitability for even the most critical applications.
At the heart of the SLA’s exceptional performance lies its multiloop logic solver with built-in voting and enhanced math capability. This advanced feature is reminiscent of the sophisticated functionalities typically associated with complex safety PLCs but is now available in a compact and cost-effective solution. The SLA’s capabilities extend from simple alarming to intricate schemes, including 1oo2, 2oo3, or even 5oo8 voting architectures. This empowers the SLA to respond to potentially hazardous process conditions, issue warnings for undesirable situations, execute emergency shutdowns, or provide precise on/off control in both Safety Instrumented Systems and traditional alarm trip applications.
The SLA accommodates up to four discrete and six analog inputs from a diverse range of devices and sensors. Leveraging HART data transmission, the SLA enables bidirectional communication with connected field devices, allowing for continuous monitoring and programming. Its four relay outputs and up to four discrete contact closure outputs can be tailored to your specific needs and triggered by any of the 16 internally configured alarms. Furthermore, the SLA’s three optional analog outputs enable the transmission of various inputs or internally calculated variables.
We believe that technology should be accessible to all, and that’s why we’ve designed the SLA to be effortlessly programmable with simple drop-down menus and checkboxes. Utilizing any FDT-compliant host and the SLA’s intuitive DTM interface, you can unleash the SLA’s power with ease. No custom or licensed software is required. Plus, our equation editor empowers users to create monitoring, alarming, and control schemes, from simple timer-based functions to intricate logic equations.
With today’s industrial networks in mind, the SLA features secure programming and communications. The inclusion of security jumpers prevents unauthorized reprogramming, ensuring protection with read-only communications through Ethernet and MODBUS ports. The SLA supports both MODBUS/TCP and MODBUS RTU industrial protocols, and its embedded read-only web server allows effortless access to inputs, outputs, variables, and parameters through a standard web browser.
